Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need railway or engineering experience?

No. The team is built to teach through real project work, supported by your fellow members and subdivision leads.

What kinds of work are available?

Mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, operations, fundraising, and communications are all available!

How much time should I expect to commit to CUL?

The more time you commit, the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more meaningful your work can be. We try to let all members walk away with a personal project that they've owned start-to-finish, but this will only happen if you actively devote time to the project.

How do I become a board member?

To become a project lead, systems integration lead, or any of the division and subdivision leads, you must demonstrate devotion to the cause and passion for the project. Empty seats will be filled via elections in the spring or by hand-picked candidates in the fall.
